Well guys, as I'm sure you can see if you follow along on Facebook or Instagram, things have been pretty busy around here!
We welcomed our sweet baby boy Jack on June 6th and the entire family has fallen completely head over heels for him. More details on newborn baby Jack to come in a later post!
I've never been one for over the top themes, I just tend to collect things I like and then hope that it all comes together. So was the case with Jack's nursery. It started as a bit of a farmhouse style (hello, #shiplap) and then some Animals of North America were added to the mix. Like I said, I struggle a little with a theme, but in the end I love how it all came together!
The first thing I knew I wanted in the room was a shiplap wall. After doing this one, I wish I could shiplap the whole dang house..but I don't think hubby would be too thrilled. After reading tons of blogs with ideas on HOW to do a faux shiplap wall, we basically took some tips and then headed to Home Depot. We found these pressed board planks, spaced them appropriately and then used about 10 million nails to adhere it to the wall. It was labor of love...especially when hubs had to fill in all the holes and then paint over it. Oops! It was all worth it in the end though. So the shiplap wall ended up being the "feature" wall of the room. Centered on it are the crib and these darling metal letters from Anthropologie. Aren't they amazing?
The crib was actually both of the girls' crib and I felt like it never really "went" with the styles of their rooms. Now having it in Jack's nursery, it looks perfect! 3rd time's the charm, right?!
The cute little bison crib sheet
came from Spearmint Love. It's a soft muslin and we have the quilt to match (that I've been taking his weekly pictures on!) One week new - isn't he pure bliss???
One we decided on the bison quilt and crib sheet, adding the moose seemed like a natural move. We've actually had this White Faux Taxidermy
in our family room since a few Christmas' ago (we loved it so much, we just couldn't pack him away) and decided that it was a great addition to the space.
I'm pretty sure he needs a name, don't you agree?!
We already had the glider and dresser and just dressed them up with a new Linen Compass pillow
and some new drawer pulls (thank you, World Market). The distressed window pane actually came from my parents' farmhouse and I just love it so much (we actually have a few around our house!).
I swooped up the wire basket from Hobby Lobby and the cute faux potted succulents
came from Amazon...because as a mama to 3 AND a small business owner, ain't nobody got time for watering plants!
The fun, industrial shelving also came from Hobby Lobby.
Isn't this little lamp cute?! Again, another Amazon purchase! My only complaint is it's battery operated so while it looks super cute, it's not super functional as a night light which I was hoping. The darling little piggy bank
is a family tradition (hubby has given one to each of the kiddos at their baby shower).
Isn't this hand lettered sign amazing?! Thank you, @allisigns <3
This sweet little teepee from Land of Nod
is also something we have had for a while and it has now found it's home in Jack's room.
The girls love to come in here and read stories! Lots of memories will be in store for this special little boy's room.
