St. Patrick's Day Festive Treats March 16, 2016 21:46

Can we all just agree that holidays call for festive treats? St. Patrick's Day is no exception! We've come up with some yummy eats that are sure to please any little leprechaun.
First up - a great way to eat the rainbow! Chloe loves "cream" {whipped cream, that is} so if that's on the plate...she'll eat whatever else is involved. Basically - pick your littles' favorite fruits, display them in a "rainbow" and add a whipped cream cloud - I added a little shredded coconut to the top because well, we're fancy like that ;)

If you prefer to not use whipped cream, then a vanilla greek yogurt would be a great and yes, I'll admit, healthier option!
Next up - we have chocolate dipped pretzels - the perfect combo of salty & sweet! Really - add chocolate to anything and my girls are all in! The "Little Dippers" are great for melting chocolate {they are sold together with the Costco crockpot} . Add a couple of drops of green food coloring and this tasty snack becomes extra festive. Plus - when Gentry dips them she doesn't like making a big mess so only about a 1/3 of the pretzel gets covered in chocolate...which means they are 2/3 healthier, right? ;)

And last but not least - a classic treat! Rice Krispie Treats with a St. Patty's twist!
We pulled the marshmallows out of a box of Lucky Charms and added them at the very end to this Rice Krispie Treat recipe. I also added a few drops of green food coloring to the mix but if I were to do it again...I would go with about 10 drops...unless you like a very, very subtle green.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope your day is filled with lots of luck & a little green!
