Gentry's Closet Studio Tour - Maximizing A Small Office Space! February 26, 2016 00:00

Happy Friday!
You guys - Friday is supposed to be our crush list but it has been one busy week. Nose to the grindstone all week getting all of your fabulous orders out the door so this Friday evening - the only thing I will be crushin' on is a glass of wine and the premiere of Fuller House on Netflix! {This makes my kid growing up in the 90's heart skip a beat!} Please tell me I'm not the only one who is just a little bit excited to see what the Tanners have been up to all these years!
So - in other news - I have been wanting to share my office space with y'all for a while. It's very small but I pride myself in how the space has been maximized! If you are small biz mama - or just want some tips on figuring out what to do with a tiny space and a lot of stuff - keep readin'! This one is for you!

You're getting a behind the scenes glance at where the magic happens. This is like CRIBS, monogramming small biz style - in a much smaller space. I refer to my office as the "studio" - it just sounds fancier that way. Really, it's a pretty tight space so we have recently done a bit of a makeover to it to maximize what room we do have.

Up until about a month ago, I had a large L shaped desk the size of Australia in this corner which took up about a 1/4 of the office (ahem, studio). I had a big office chair and really spent most of my day getting up and down as it was more of an inconvenience to sit. With two machines running all day long, I am constantly switching out shirts and designs. Basically the desk was a way to collect clutter. I swapped it out for this cute dresser from Ikea. It's the perfect height so I can stand and work on designs. All the storage below is great for inventory & I even was able to put my label printer in the top drawer (props to my assistant for that awesome idea!)

In case I haven't made it abundantly clear - I live for fresh flowers & clear mason jars are the perfect catch all for basically anything.
This fold out table {seen in the top picture} from is one of my favorite pieces of furniture! It fold out super wide but can also easily fold down to almost nothing or just one side if you don't need so much table top. The floor to almost ceiling shelving from Ikea makes for great open storage for inventory - easy to access!

We added peg board to one of the walls in my office. It's perfect for embroidery thread & organization of hoops.

This cart from IKEA. Game changer. Seriously - I have seen it all over Pinterest used in nurseries, pantries & more. It's absolutely perfect in my studio!

This refurbished chalk board from @MeliDcreations is a great place for quotes & goals. Keeping them front & center keeps me motivated!
There's quite a bit more to the space (well not actual space) but other tips & tricks to maximize space but these pieces of furniture are probably my best kept secrets. I hope they give you some inspiration for creating an organized and functional space. Enjoy the weekend!
